 WHY Pepe ?

KAI chose Pepe as the artist for NAYUKI CUPSEUM 1st exhibition for the identical living philosophy in his works with NAYUKI’s brand: even leading a fast-paced urban life, you could still choose “Being a Cat” occasionally. Just relax and have a cup of tea, enjoy the time without any bother.

The NAYUKI CUPSEUM has been on for nearly three weeks. The very joy for KAIers is to see Pepe's interesting works (with bright and simple colors) show up in citizens’ hands on the road, in the computers on the rows of office tables, and on everyone's social media, bringing fun and color to the urban lives.

“If I was a Cat” Public Recreation

Pepe’s warm artworks even sparked amazing inspiration among the visitors! Many of them were active in recreating the artwork: a short poem, a painting, and a creative reuse of the cup. The public presented their expectation and imagination for the good life, both in the offline workshops and online topics sharing.

These are exactly what Pepe has long anticipated for his works: He is always looking forward to leading the visitors an instant off from daily life via his artwork. The online topic “If I was a cat” has attracted over 10 thousand remarks. It seems visitors and even the cyber celebrities from various backgrounds were immersed in the "Cat Neverland" built by Pepe: If I was a cat, I would live every day as a poem. (See some selections of the written poems below)

If I became a cat

I will huddle myself in your clothes

Stay asleep on your sofa

——Picture book comic book "Meng Meng Da, Hen Nuanhuo" author Nantony

If you became a cat

Then I would be the mildest moon in the world

——Moon and her

Become a cat

I gonna do some dangerous work

Firefighter, adventurer, scientific researcher

I will always rush ahead when facing every danger

As I have 9 lives

——Despair Li

If I become a cat

I will try to drill the door

Verify whether or not

my head can pass

all the door gaps, and wire holes

——Ms. Soy milk

 Painter Workshop

In the two offline workshops of NAYUKI CUPSEUM launched in Shenzhen and Shanghai, many people were creating their own cat’s artworks, when sipping the yummy tea drinks, and having the limited cat-style bread with friends. NAYUKI also made these paintings into exclusive NAYUKI cups, so that participants who love painting can enjoy a lot by displaying their works on the cups.

  Artistic Reutilization

KAI was quite excited to found from their social media that the deep lovers of Pepe’s artwork managed to collect all the 6 cups. They reutilized the cups in a creative way, getting their daily life a more lovely and environmental-friendly decoration.

 Last but not least......

KAI always believes that culture and art could empower commerce and brighten life up. Be creative and take action, then art will approach to our daily life. Everyone could happen to enjoy the warm artworks, and that’s the common brand’s motive KAI and NAYUKI have been exploring together. In the next volume, we look forward to more wishes and regards on the cups, and keep the fun and comfort in the busy urban life.
